The amino acid in green tea is called Theanine. It counteracts the negative effects of caffeine, like nervousness. Amino acid is a sedative which will help you to relax. It also can protect the nerve cells in your brain and prolong the life of those cells. Green tea also contains many vitamins. Vitamin A, also known as carotene, is good for improved vision and preventing aging and cancer. Vitamin B1, Thiamine, helps you to metabolize sugar and aids in the recovery from fatigue. Riboflavin or vitamin B2 is necessary for the formation of red blood cells, antibody production, cell respiration and growth. It will help to prevent rough skin and it enhances growth. It also promotes the production of antibodies. The vitamin B3, also known as Niacin, is important for releasing energy. It is good for lowering cholesterol and is currently being tested for the prevention of diabetes.

Vitamin C is good for preventing cancer and old age. It also cleanses the skin and prevents colds. Lastly, Vitamin E combats infertility, prevents aging, and is helpful in preventing cancer and cardiovascular disease. As you can see, there are many health benefits of drinking green tea.

How Is Green Tea Made?

Unlike dark tea, green tea is brewed in water. The temperature has to be maintained at boiling point. It is believed that brewing green tea in boiling water will make it taste very bitter. Some of the green tea leaves are pan fried or oven roasted before preparation. This adds a unique flavor all on its own.

It is a good glucose regulator and slows down the rise in blood glucose levels after eating a meal. It can also increase your metabolic rate causing you to burn more calories.

Green tea weight loss is very common and it can work for you, too.
